HAIR PSA ALERT
⚠ I decided to do a little show and tell for my friends and clients that tell me they want a "fashion color" in their hair.
What most people don't know is that while they're seeing all those beautiful colors on social media, generally the pictures were either taken the day they were colored, or they were photoshopped.
These beautiful colors are fun to do and fun to wear, but start fading at the very first shampoo. If more than one color is used, often they bleed into each other, leaving undesirable murky results, unless the colors are shampooed and rinsed separately.
The hair has to be bleached to near white first, potentially causing great damage to the hair, and these colors bleed on everything from your face/neck/hands to pillowcases, towels, and even the car's headrest.
The brighter the color, the more it bleeds. The more pastel the color, the faster it washes out. All colors MUST be shampooed with COLD water, or they will wash out much faster.
Also, the pastels will most of the time fade all the way out. The brighter colors, however, can almost never be completely removed, just intentionally faded and colored over.
For a look like mine, starting from scratch, here's the cost.
Bleaching round one: $65
Round two (if needed) $65
Toner $22
Single color (purple) process: $65.
Refresh purple every 2-3 weeks: $65
Retouch regrowth at 6 weeks: $65
Refresh purple with retouch: $65
Thank you Stacy Crawford.
